"New year, new me!"
I wish that were the case. The reality is that we're all growing, day by day.
It's been a year with ups and downs. Previously, I wrote that I was miserable because I did not achieve many of my goals this year. Now I feel a little better, after a rest. But the fact remains that indeed, I did not achieve what I wanted to this year. Additionally, there's a lot more uncertainty about my future. The global environment became a much darker place, and I will have to live with the consequences.
Next year, in fact, I will be less ambitious. I figure I need to take the time to sit down and focus on what's important in my life, most notably my academic life.
There's a lot of thinking to do. But I do want to take my final day - New Year's Day - to rest and spend some time with my friends.
