I've decided to
skip lecture today; I need to think. It's also raining hard and I'm scared of
floods. (Yesterday there was some serious flooding in Sydney and I'm glad I
slept in.) I'll catch up with the recording when I get it, and also I'll be
around for tutorials.
The great
news is that I've learned I no longer have to repeat the course I failed,
thanks to my girlfriend. YES! To me, that's a $5000 save because I'm not
burning another 6 credits on some nonsense that has no use to real life and
only serves to drop my cumulative further.
I've also
learned that I was no longer enrolled in like half the courses I signed up for
because they are now discontinued; some of them are only offered in semester 1
or semester 2, and others are just gone. I basically spent the entire yesterday
re-signing up for courses. (This is still great news because now I've got a better course arrangement.)
Current
Semester 1: ACCT2001, ECOS2001, ECMT1020, ECOS2004
Current
Semester 2: ACCT2002, ECOS2002, ECON1006, undecided
I actually
really wanted to do ECOS2025 (semester 1 only) because it sounds like a really
fun course (and I'd get really high marks on it too, just write about Singapore
all day LOL). But I've decided on ECOS2004 instead to join my girlfriend. It's
actually a very solid decision because now I can do ECOS2025 in third year, a fun course for when I'm more stressed.
For the
one undecided course in Semester 2, I'm deciding between CLAW1001, MKTG1001, or
WORK1003. My dad wants me to do CLAW or MKTG; I don't want to do MKTG at all
and I will do CLAW if I don't see Andrew's name on top of the list. (No Andrew
= my ticket to getting a good mark.) Else I'll do WORK, it's probably
relatively easy and has generally applicable material to my future MBA.
Also, I
bought a super powerful fan to stay cool. Vornado is a super expensive brand
but their fans are really good. I plan to be using this fan at least 50% of the
time for the next two years (think: in winter I'll have the heater in front of
it to circulate hot air better) so it better be solid quality. Also the loaned
fan from the residence is bad and has gotten even weaker over the past year. It basically exists just to tickle my papers on my desk at this point.
Oh well. I
really think I need another hour of sleep. Back to bed I guess, then lunch +
studying before tutorial. Hopefully it quite raining.
